BAN-SHIN-DO

Class time: 45 Minutes

This class deals with only the functional side of Martial Arts.  There is a combination of systems that are practiced.  The class usually begins with movement drills to teach stepping techniques to the students, followed by striking techniques to compliment the workout for the enemy.  The class follows three zones of defense, punching and kicking, elbows, knees and finally grappling in the standing position.  Ground fighting skills development is also focus of the Ban-Shin-Do training.  The class is 45 minutes long and often uses kicking and punching shields to develop striking proficiency while providing safety to each set of students performing the drills.  This class is designed to make the students as combative as possible with the blending of all of the functional parts of Martial Arts.  The "focus" mitts and kick shields help develop each student's ability to generate power, stamina and build self-confidence in executing developed skills.

ABOUT BAN-SHIN-DO

Ban-Shin-Do is a combination of several Martial Arts from around the world that have been incorporated into a cohesively unique system.  Only the most effective techniques have been gleaned from these skill sets ensuring that there is little wasted energy with maximum effect.  The techniques have been gathered mainly from the Bando Animal Systems (Boar, Tiger, Eagle, Python, Panther, Bull, Cobra and Scorpion), Ten Shin Ryu Jiu Jiutsu, Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing techniques in a similar manner that Bruce Lee created Jeet Kune Do from both eastern martial arts and western boxing.  This system is not flashy, but brutally effective when performed at its ideal potential.  The closest similar style could be considered Krav Maga, an Israeli Martial Art developed to teach its citizens to protect themselves in the hostile environment that they exist in.
